The MagicGuy, Don Russell, teaches "magic as a performing art!" Watch for classes, club meetings, and lectures coming up! Each summer Don provides classes through the Anchorage Community Theater, Kodiak Arts Council, Anchorage Folk Arts Camp, and other organizations. He has also worked with the 21 Century Learning Center Programs through the Anchorage School District. He has provided amazing insight into this great art in Valdez, Soldotna, Kenai, and Homer!

In addition to the summer programs, he is available through the Artist in Residency Programs at the schools. Check with us for more information!

Magic Camps & Classes

Want to Learn Magic As A Performing Art?

We are now offering Magic Classes at the Magic Shop & Studio by invitation and application. Sessions are for Beginning Magic and Themed Magic - close up, comedy, stage, street, etc. Each session will run approximately 1-2hours depending on theme and attendence. These programs are for ages nine to adult. Children (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent. Cost/fees will be determined as the Classes are schedules. Magic Camps

June 5-9, 2023 & July 17-21, 2023

These special camps will be offered to those who are highly interested in learning Magic as a Performing Art. These camps offer an enrollment of a minimum of four to a maximum of 10 students, ages 9 and up. The students will learn many fascinating tricks of the trade; put together a professional grade magic kit; learn, build and perform fantastic illusions; and have an opportunity for a BIG FINALE performance at the end of camp. Camps will be scheduled for 3 or 5 days at YOUR CONVENIENCE. The camps run daily, 10am-3pm - and will be held at the "Magic Shop & Studio" (located in South Anchorage) The fee is $250/participant. Magic Lessons &
School Programs

Magic lessons and classes are available for groups, organizations, and serious individuals. The classes cater to the ability of the student. Basic & commercial effects are examined and explained with the emphasis on PERFORMANCE. No "magic secrets" are exposed. However, those developing their talent will be given means to pursue their interests.

School programs focus on learning performance skills. Depending on the length of the course, students can learn the basics or advance to put on a full scale show. The classes or seminars are for ages 9 and up.
